The production of pulp varies from region to region from industrial waste wood or plantation wood. For pulp production, wood chips that are as uniformly shaped as possible are required. Mechanical shredding improves the uniform impregnation of the wood with the pulping solutions. For sealing pulp, it strongly depends on the pulp content in %, as well as the process. In general, STB GmbH recommends the use of a double-acting mechanical seal from a stock consistency of <2%.
We have developed various sealing concepts to extend the service life, be it for sealing in the cooking process, or for pumps for conveying the sulfuric acid, or for sorting the fibres. The use of the right choice of materials plays an important role here.
